Frequently Asked Questions
What age can my child start Ninja Training?
Our calisthenics-based classes are designed for kids aged 5–14, no matter their starting ability.
My child is a bit shy. Will they be okay?
Absolutely. Loads of our Ninjas start off quiet. Our coaches are brilliant at helping kids ease in.
Do you offer a trial class?
Yes! Your child’s first 90-minute Ninja Training mission is just £12.50. It’s the perfect way to try it out and see how they feel.
What’s the cost after the trial? Are there any extras?
After the trial, your child can continue with a £50/month membership — one 90-minute mission every week.
Extras like our Survival Fitness uniform and the Ninja Guidebook (to track progress and earn badges) are available here.
What does a typical class look like?
Each session is 90 minutes and follows our signature 5-part mission format:
- Cardio
- Stretch
- Conditioning
- Break
- Calisthenics Skills
Kids train at their own level and progress at their own pace, coached and encouraged by UKCO-certified coaches.
Are the exercises age and level appropriate?
Yes. Kids move through our calisthenics grading system (Grades 1–5) based on ability, not age. This means everyone is challenged but never overwhelmed. They progress at their own pace.
How do you teach correct form and technique?
Each class is led by a Head Coach supported by Senior Coaches and Coaches.
Form, safety, and progress are constantly monitored so your child learns movement the right way.
What’s the difference between this and a gym workout?
Our classes are based on calisthenics and functional fitness. That means no machines, no heavy weights. Just pure bodyweight movement that helps our kids build real strength, agility, and movement skills they’ll use for life. It’s safer, more natural, and designed with growing bodies in mind.
What’s the coach-to-child ratio?
Each class is led by a Head Coach supported by Senior Coaches and Coaches, with class size dictating exact numbers. The maximum class size is 30 kids. Every child gets support and attention, no one falls through the cracks.
Is the space safe? Are they always supervised?
Always. Every coach is enhanced DBS-checked, Paediatric First Aid trained, and fully certified. Our space is regularly inspected and set up for safe movement. Read more about our coaches here.
What if my child struggles to keep up?
We meet every child where they’re at. Some kids zoom ahead. Others take their time. No pressure. No comparison. Progress is determined by their own pace.
What if my child has additional needs?
Let us know. We do our best to include every child and we’re always happy to chat and adapt where we can.
Can I stay and watch the class?
Our programme is drop and go, it helps kids build independence and focus on their mission ahead. Our coaches are available to answer questions and meet you before and after class.
How do I track my child’s progress?
In the Ninja Guidebook, you can see exactly what your child is working on. Plus, they earn badges as they level up.
What should they wear and bring?
If they’ve got our Survival Fitness uniform, great. If not yet, comfy clothes they can move in. Keep in mind; shorts can not be baggy or revealing, hair tied back, no crop tops, trainers, and a refillable water bottle.
Do you provide things to do at home?
Yes! Our YouTube channel combined with the Ninja Guidebook offers at-home missions, movement games, and healthy nutrition tips to keep the learning going beyond class.
Are there Calisthenics competitions to join?
Yes! We do summer quests and a yearly big competition. Learn more about them here: Summer classes and UK’s second ever Children’s Calisthenics Competition
What skills will my child develop?
Your child will improve in:
- Strength
- Balance
- Coordination
- Mobility
- Confidence
They’ll also learn about nutrition, recovery, and healthy habits for life.
What changes can I expect after 6 months?
- Better posture and movement control
- Increase in confidence
- Awareness of their body + breath
- Motivation to move more
- Knowledge of nutrition and resilience
What’s your policy for missed classes or cancellations?
If you can’t attend a class, we’re unable to offer refunds or swaps as we hold your child’s spot and prepare accordingly. If we ever need to cancel, you’ll receive a full refund or an option to reschedule.
What are the drop-off and pick-up rules?
We ask that your child is dropped off and picked up on time by a parent or legal guardian. Our doors will be locked 5 minutes after class starts and will not reopen once locked. If you arrive more than 5 minutes late to collect your child, a small late collection fee of £5 will be charged.
Can we join halfway through the month?
Yes, your child can start anytime. Our monthly membership is £50.
Is the space safe? Are they always supervised?
Always. Every coach is DBS-checked, paediatric first aid trained, and fully certified. The space is regularly inspected and set up for safe movement.
Are your classes mixed gender?
Yes! Boys and girls train together. We group by ability, not gender so every child feels included and challenged in the right way.
Where are the classes held?
We currently have one location in Leicester: 118 Charles Street. And we’re excited to announce we’ll be expanding to Dubai (UAE) Further details to follow!
Do I need to sign anything?
Yes. Just a quick waiver before their first mission. It keeps everyone safe and informed. We’ll send this by email along with the class confirmation.
Are you open year-round?
Yes! Survival Fitness classes run all year, including half-term holidays. We only close during the following breaks:
- 2 weeks over Easter
- 2 weeks at Christmas and New Year
